It’s time to say goodbye to the aWLp blog – on WordPress. We’ll be moving to Tumblr so that we can share even more of our directors’ fantastic work. Please check us out at:

For our last post here, we give you our newest music video – aWlp’s Adria Petty directs Coldplay & Rihanna in the Asian-themed sword-fighting spectacle, “Princess of China.”
The Japanese performance and installation artist Chiharu Shiota will be showing her latest exhibition at Haunch of Venison in New York through June 16, 2012. The exhibition includes a large window installation comprised solely of found window frames Shiota collected in East Berlin. As with much of her other work, this piece is defined by the notion of “presence in the midst of absence”, and takes the forgotten, discarded frames of days past to create an interweaving, connected structure. To learn more about Shiota’s work, or other exhibitions on display at Haunch of Venison, click here.
Premiering today is Regina Spektor’s video for “All the Rowboats,” directed by aWLp’s Adria Petty. Spektor’s new album comes out on May 29. Check out the video here.
Milky, the lovable character from Blur’s “Coffee & TV” music video, is now visiting Cincinnati for a special appearance at the Spectacle show (see our previous entry). Seen here with curator of the show and founder of flux, Jonathan Wells, Milky was recreated especially for the exhibition. See the video that made Milky famous here.
If you find yourself in Cincinnati in the coming days, make sure to stop by Spectacle – The Music Video exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center. Curated by the good folks at flux, the show will feature aWLp’s Arni & Kinski, Stéphane Sednaoui and Garth Jennings. Besides the showings of their memorable videos for artists such as Sigur Rós, Björk and Blur, the exhibit will also include special memorabilia from the directors, well-worth to check out. Friend of the blog, Giles Clarke, has a photography exhibition of the Occupy Wall Street movement coming soon to the Yippee! Cafe. Details below. For more information, visit 9bleecker.com.
Better known for his acting, Oscar-winner Adrian Brody can now add “model/spokesperson” on his resume. First, he strutted his stuff down the runaway for Prada 2012 Fall/Winter show. Next, we can see him alongside with Andre 3000 and Gael Garcia Bernal in the new Gillette campaign, directed by aWLp’s Olivier Gondry.
If you missed it in London, BUG Radiohead Special is coming to Los Angeles on Feb 1 at Downtown Independent. Featuring videos from aWLp’s Garth Jennings and Tobias Stretch, spend a night with fellow Radiohead fans watching some of the band’s most innovative collaborations on the big screen.
